Evaporators - Brazed Plate (BPHE)
Brazed Plates heat exchangers are typically applied when using clean fluids such as refrigerant subcoolers, chilled water, ethylene glycol or propylene glycols closed loops. A 16-20 mesh strainer is recommended on the fluid side prior to the heat exchanger to prevent premature plugging. Care should be given to avoid freeze-up by using a calibrated lower pressure cut out or evaporator pressure regulator. Standard models are copper brazed with 316SS plates limiting them to non corrosive applications.
Doucette’s brazed plate heat exchangers are assembled from a very small number of machine formed parts for exceptional durability along with higher operating pressures and temperatures. Fouling is virtually eliminated by the self-cleaning effect generated through high induced turbulence. Doucette’s compact design and low refrigerant charge requirement are attractive advantages for packaged cooling system.
