Evaporators - Tube-In-Tube
Tube-In-Tube evaporators are a variation of the shell and tube evaporator design. They are preferred when a mechanically cleanable tube side is required such as water soluble coolant applications. Tube-in-Tube evaporators are available in capacities up to 15TR. Water-side construction is available in copper, 90/10 cupro-nickel and stainless steel to match process requirement. Removable plugs on each tube allow visual inspection and cleaning from one end of the heat exchanger. Where required, a refrigerant distributor, orifice and cap tubes are provided to ensure equal distribution across the heat exchanger. A calibrated low-pressure cut-out or evaporator pressure regulator should be provided to prevent freeze-up.
